EMPATHER Establishes its Multi-Stakeholder Privacy Review Board

by EDvocacy

The Privacy Review Board serves as a multi-stakeholder advisory and co-creation body, bringing together representatives from different parts of the educational ecosystem. Its role is to support the development of the EMPATHER ORRI Toolkit and ensure that privacy, transparency, accountability, and stakeholder participation are embedded throughout the project.

The Board includes representatives from EDVOCACY, the Directorate of Primary Education of Cyclades (DIPE CYCLADON), teachers, parents, and students. This diverse composition ensures that the development of project outputs is informed by the perspectives of those directly involved in educational research and practice. Through regular meetings and collaborative workshops, Board members contribute to the review of project outputs, provide feedback on ethical and privacy-related issues, and help ensure that the tools being developed remain relevant, practical, and aligned with the realities of educational settings.

A particular strength of the Board is the active participation of students and parents alongside educational professionals. Their involvement reflects the project’s commitment to Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI), which emphasises inclusiveness, transparency, and shared responsibility in research and innovation processes. By giving voice to different stakeholder groups, the project seeks to build trust and strengthen the social value of educational research.
